Infringe on that freedom and you got a war starting.

"Give me liberty or give me death."

A quote from one of our founding fore fathers I think.photogrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05149737419546300220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947901677057635396.post-41201038337918340382010-07-02T16:37:37.689-04:002010-07-02T16:37:37.689-04:00Out of the park! Paul said all they can do is kill us.

I think some of the places that I have visited where poverty is great, are in some way, worse prisons.

I had a friend that was a missionary in Vietnam. They used to go to the market, butcher chickens and pigs for meat, and walk everywhere.

He said this:
"Search out earth's places where the temperatures are most unbearable, diseases are most deadly, poverty is most desperate, peace is most elusive, and life is most inconvenient. There! You have found the greatest concentrations of people who are still waiting to be reached with the good news of Jesus. Of course it's hard. If it were easy, it would have been done by now."

I am glad for my freedom.Davidhttp://www.fireandgrace.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947901677057635396.post-29067427918875145862010-07-02T11:38:51.489-04:002010-07-02T11:38:51.489-04:00Gee Tony, you make some really good points. I've also often thought about what we can do to improve the prison system but end up coming back to the same conclusion that you say so well:

"Rehabilitation is just a fancy governmental scapegoat word destined to fail for the vast majority because it can't account for, or help alter, desires of the heart. Only God can do that...and our government is far from God and picking up speed."

I plan to enjoy the 4th festivities as well. But, like you, I'm most grateful for my relationship with ChristTracyhttp://abundantliving-tracy.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
