I've frequently, perhaps like "Anonymous" here, thought of that next verse, #18, in Philippians 1. If Jesus Christ is being lifted up - why are we thinking we're the "doctrine" or "motive" police. Why can't we just leave that to God and instead look to where we can do something - at ourselves. To make sure we are each about the business that God has called us to.Tracyhttp://abundantliving-tracy.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947901677057635396.post-62387416985396405912010-09-01T15:30:14.400-04:002010-09-01T15:30:14.400-04:00You go, Dave! I just read that scripture an hour ago, because of some FB "friends" who like to bash other Christians' beliefs.

I like what Paul said next: "
Phil 1:18
18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,"
(from New International Version)

Jesus told his disciples: "He who is not against us is on our side" (Mark 9:40)

It would behoove us all to learn that we all have a common goal - to preach Jesus and him crucified. We have to let the Lord deal with doctrinal error (I dare say ALL of are wrong about something.) Let's not by in to the devil's devices to bring division amongst the Body of Christ...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3947901677057635396.post-70004671348532829092010-09-01T13:58:15.151-04:002010-09-01T13:58:15.151-04:00I have written about this before.
http://fireandg...I have written about this before.

http://fireandgrace.blogspot.com/2009/11/top-10-stupidest-things-christians-do.html

Why we feel the need to point out miniscule errors is retarded.

We do need good teaching on why the occult is bad, why some folks are in cults, and what non-Christian religions believe so that we can love others with truth. But arguing over this is crazy.

Instead of calling my non-spirit-filled brethren names, I invited them on a mission trip to see the power of God first hand. I wish I could afford to take more of them!Davidhttp://www.fireandgrace.comnoreply@blogger.com
